In the 9 year history of the Miltown Beat Down, we have traditionally held this event in the later winter / early spring. Here in 2014, I have been asked to perform Gabriel Prokofiev’s CONCERTO FOR TURNTABLES in Toronto and Chicago.
With three separate performances in January, March and April, this makes hosting the battle in Milwaukee next to impossible.
With that being said…
We will host this year’s event in the early Fall, after the madness of Milwaukee’s summer is over. We will email all who register with dates, once they’re secured. Those who pre-register will get preference when we select the 2014 contestants.
Thanks Milwaukee! I love doing this event, and I’m so happy it’s got the support of such a great group of producers and fans!
And the beat goes on…

BUBBA was crowned the 8th annual Miltown Beat Down Champion On Friday May 3rd 2013.
After competing in several past bouts, Bubba’s live MPC battle technique earned him the 2013 title.
Earlier that night…
This year we return to the historic Turner Hall Ballroom, in beautiful downtown Milwaukee. The night features a action packed schedule of performances and battles. Legendary Producer / DJ Shadow will grace the stage as our 2013 guest of honor. His body of work continues to inspire music fans and DJs young and old. There are few DJs who stand the test of time through their innovative ways of music productions. However DJ Shadow continues to set standards falling into the exception rather than the rule in today’s electronic music frenzy.

Our final night of preliminary battles, went down as our best. 2009 Miltown Beat Down Champion AD LIB made his triumphant return to the Jackalope Lounj, 4 year battle veteran TRADEMARK was back and the “Peoples’ Champ” 40 MIL had his eyes on the prize. We had high expectations for these vets, but we were all amazed with the quality beats we heard from WILD CARD BATTLE winner and Miltown Beat Down rookie, MILES HIGH MAJOR.
Here is our recap :
BATTLE OF THE YEAR: 40 Mil vs TradeMark
Adlib vs MilesHighMajor

Just look at these scores! No producer scored under 410, out of a perfect score of 495! What a great night of battles. All of these producers should be commended for their hard work and amazing music.
See you at the 2013 finals with DJ SHADOW at Turner Hall Ballroom.
The 7th round of battle in the 2013 Miltown Beat Down brought a lot of surprises and a ton of great beats. The night featured MTBD veterans Goodwill and Klassik, battling freshmen Lynd-Oh and Allerain. A battle for the books, we had some great moments in this round of competition.
This battle really came down to the scores. Many of our judges were in disagreement with who the victor was in each of these battles. As you can see by the point spread below, it came down to a few marks on many of these battles. It was a very good night of competition.
Here is our recap:
GoodWill vs Lynd-Oh
GoodWill vs Allerian
Klassik vs Lynd-Oh

We saw a lot of “Bizzon Faces” during this night of battle! BIG UP to Allerian, for bringing us this moment here…
Oooooh weee. That’s a hot beat right there…
Klassik will compete in the 2013 finals, May 3rd, at Turner Hall Ballroom.
