This year we return to the historic Turner Hall Ballroom, in beautiful downtown Milwaukee.  The night features a action packed schedule of performances and battles.  Legendary Producer / DJ Shadow will grace the stage as our 2013 guest of honor. His body of work continues to inspire music fans and DJs young and old.  There are few DJs who stand the test of time through their innovative ways of music productions.  However DJ Shadow continues to set standards falling into the exception rather than the rule in today’s electronic music frenzy.

THis year we will be hosted at the Yellow Phone Music Conference. Yellow Phone Music Conference (YPMC) is a four day gathering of talented artists and music professionals from all over the nation . YPMC will present engaging panel discussions and mentor sessions with experienced, respected  music business leaders from  Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville. YPMC is dedicated to bringing professionals, artists and fans together to share ideas and discover new opportunities.

One of the many great showcases this year will be the MILTOWN BEAT DOWN Semi-Finals on Friday September 7th and the 2012 Finals on September 8th.  Over the month of August, 32 area producers competed for a slot in this weekend’s battles.

What are they battling for?  Well, braggin’ rights, as they will be the 7th annual Miltown Beat Down champion.  But in addition to that, we’ve got quite a nice prize package.  Our friends at Mutiny Music have teamed up with Livid Instruments to provide us with a LIVID INSTRUMENTS OHM RGB midi controller.

We’ve also got a  $250 MODA 3 shopping spree, so they can step their shoe  game up!

And our friends at Koss will provide the winner with a custom Koss headphone headquarters tour, and headphone fitting.

We will be at Moct, this year for back to back night’s of battles and performances.

We will continue on Saturday night with performances from Deputi, Kid Cut Up, Frankie Flowers and Demix.  The top 8 producers from Friday will battle for the 2012 title, and we’d like to announce something VERY SPECIAL!

Back by popular demand, it’s the 2012 Consolation Prize Battle.

We’ve taken the top 4, highest scoring producers, and offered them a chance to compete in this competition.  We will kick of the FINALS with the following battles.

9:45 Winner1 VS. Winner2

Milwaukee’s premier producer battle, the Miltown Beat Down, is now accepting early sign-ups for the 2012 edition of the competition.

This year, the battles will take place in August. Prizes, guest judges, sponsors, venues, what your submission will look like and everything else will be announced Monday, June 4th. That’s all you need to know for now.

So, as we finalize everything, you can start getting ready and know you have two solid months to prepare. It’s On!
